Covid statistics remaining high at Mayo University Hospital

There has been a slight fall in the number of confirmed Covid cases in care today at Mayo University Hospital (MUH).

It has dropped by one since yesterday to 29, the fifth highest in the country.

That's according to figures recorded at the centre by the HSE at 8 p.m. yesterday.

They revealed five of the cases were admitted during the course of the past 24 hours.

There are also two suspected cases in the hospital, no change, and the facility's ICU remains virus free.

Nationally, the number of hospitalised confirmed cases has increased by 42 to 466.

The number of patients in intensive care units has risen by five to 39.

There are two vacant general beds at MUH, a drop of one, and one vacant critical care bed, up by one.
