Mayo GAA organises training course for voluntary stewards

Mayo GAA will be holding a training course for voluntary stewards to assist with games in MacHale Park, Castlebar, and at club pitches in Mayo this year and beyond.

When trained, the voluntary stewards will also be available to assist their clubs with stewarding as the need arises.

The purpose of this course is to ensure that there will be a sufficient number of qualified stewards for events at MacHale Park and elsewhere within the county.

Persons interested in volunteering as stewards can be male or female, must be over 18 years of age, must be a member of a GAA club, should be fit and active, and should be friendly, courteous and enthusiastic.

Anyone looking to volunteer can do so either through their club or by contacting one of the following to register their interest or for further information: Paddy McNicholas on (085) 1744117, Willie Kelly on (086) 2754233, Johnny Hopkins on (087) 2255431 or James Rocke on (087) 2930395.

Due to current restrictions in place to deal with Covid-19, the stewards training course will be delivered online at a time suitable to the volunteer.
