Two arrests in Mayo following cocaine seizure
Gardaí from the Mayo Divisional Drugs Taskforce patrolling in Kiltimagh yesterday evening stopped a vehicle and searched the driver and vehicle and recovered drugs believed to be cocaine with a value of €2,618 (subject to analysis).
A 22-year old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs for sale or supply.
Follow up searches were undertaken at an address in the Claremorris area and during which drugs related paraphernalia was recovered.
Following interview at Castlebar Garda Station the male has been released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
He has since been released from custody and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Later gardaí from the Mayo Divisional Drugs Taskforce, acting on intelligence, executed a search warrant at an address in Claremorris town.
During the search they seized suspected cocaine worth €5,320 (subject to analysis).
They additionally seized €4,800 in cash.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs for sale or supply and interviewed at Castlebar Garda Station.
