Highlights of past Castlebar's St. Patrick's Day parades to be televised on March 18
Highlights of 20 years of St. Patrick's Day Parades in Castlebar are set to be featured in an iMayo TV special on March 18.
The programme is being televised in association with Castlebar St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee and backed by Castlebar Chamber of Commerce.
The show will focus on parades between 1999 to 2019.
The special programme will be broadcast on Thursday evening, March 18, at 7 p.m. on Sky Showcase channel 191.
It will feature marching bands, floats, music, Irish dancing, Disney characters and lots more.
Bernard Hughes, chairman of Castlebar St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee, commented: “Given the current pandemic restrictions we are really very lucky to be able to work with Henry McGlade and iMayo TV to produce this programme to mark a very important event in Castlebar's yearly calendar.”
Councillor Blackie Gavin, chairman of Castlebar Municipal District, applauded this production.
He outlined: “This programme will help the morale of people who were looking forward to this year's parade and will leave us eager to be out in person next year when normal parades will hopefully take place again.“
