Resumption of Mayo GAA club games remain up in the air

MAYO GAA will make an announcement on the resumption of club competitions once they receive word from Croke Park.

Newly-appointed president of the GAA, Larry McCarthy, said in an interview recently that it didn't matter to him whether it was club or inter-county games that started first this year.

At the monthly Mayo GAA County Board meeting, vice-chairperson Con Moynihan stated his personal belief that the inter-county season will start 'as soon as practically possible' and finish in mid-summer, with the club championship season more than likely in the autumn, but it was all dependent on the direction of the government and HSE.

“As soon as we get concrete direction, we will be ready to go. Any decision we make when it comes to competitions and formats, we will put to the clubs,” said Moynihan.
