Positive Covid numbers at a standstill at Mayo University Hospital

The number of confirmed Covid cases in care at Mayo University Hospital (MUH) today is 12, no change over the past 24 hours

No new confirmed cases were admitted to the Castlebar facility between 8 p.m. yesterday and 8 p.m. on March 20.

The latest HSE report from the facility was compiled at 8 p.m. yesterday.

MUH's virus figures are now the 11th highest in the country, the list headed by St. James's Hospital, Dublin, with 39.

Galway University Hospital has four positive cases in care, no change, while Sligo University Hospital has 11, an increase of one.

There are two suspected cases at the Castlebar centre, up by one.

The ICU at Mayo University Hospital is Covid-free.

Nationally, the number of hospitalised confirmed cases now stands at 366, a rise of 16.

The number of patients in intensive care units nationally is 80, down by three.

There are two vacant general beds and three vacant critical care beds today at MUH.

Six new confirmed cases were identified in Mayo by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre yesterday evening, leaving the county with a 14-day incidence rate of 72 - below the national average of 155.3.

Mayo's five-day moving average is stands at four, up by one.
