Mayo GAA club has the “Recipes for Success"

CASTLEBAR Mitchels held an online Healthy Eating/Nutritional course on Saturday, March 20 last, with 30 young adults participating.

The session, with Lorraine McHale B.Ed.(Home Economics), focused on sports nutrition and cooking and baking healthy meals for optimum performance.

The dishes prepared included a butternut squash and red pepper soup, spaghetti bolognese with wholemeal pasta, wholesome blueberry and banana muffins, and stacs brown bread.

The session offered those who participated invaluable tools not only for young athletes serious about optimising their performance, but also for young adults potentially progressing into third level education - their first requirement, fending for themselves in the kitchen.
