Man extradited from Poland to face Mayo drug charges dating back to 2017

An 44-year-old man has been extradited from Poland to face Mayo drug charges dating back to 2017.

He was arrested by gardaí at Dublin Airport last night and charged with the cultivation of cannabis plants, with an estimated worth of €89,000, at a growhouse in the Westport area on a date in March 2017.

He was further charged with being in possession, with intent to supply, of cannabis herb with an estimated value of €34,000.

The man was detained in custody at Castlebar Garda Station last night and he is due to appear at a special sitting of Castlebar District Court this morning.
