Plans revealed to address housing needs in three Mayo communities

Mayo County Council is to invest in the provision of over 80 new housing units in Castlebar, Ballyvary and Carnacon over the next three years.

Eight units, delivered by Tuath Housing, are expected to be completed at Chestnut Grove, Castlebar, by December.

Up to 22 new houses are in the pipeline for a site at Lois Na Circe, Milebush, Castlebar, with December 2022 the estimated completion date.

A further 15 homes are to be constructed at the location and be finished during 2023.

Twenty units, to be delivered by Co-Operative Housing Ireland, are planned for Humbert Way in the county town.

The estimated completion date is December 2022.

Nine homes will be provided in Carnacon by December of next year with a further 10 to 12 in Ballyvary during 2023.

Meanwhile, eight new housing units have been constructed at Heathervale, Castlebar, and are expected to be available for letting shortly.
