Knockmore water supply restored tonight after burst
MOST customers impacted by a burst watermain in Knockmore should see their water supply returned by 10 p.m. tonight.
Repair works were due to be completed by 6 p.m. and Ger Greally, asset operations lead for Irish Water, said it will take some time for the reservoir to refill following this significant burst.
Irish Water expect most customers to see their water supply returned by 10 p.m. tonight but with reduced pressure to facilitate the refilling of the reservoir.
“It may take up until midday tomorrow for houses in elevated areas to receive a full supply. There may be reduced pressure in the areas affected throughout tomorrow while the scheme recovers fully.
“Areas affected include Cloghans, Rathbaun, Tonybaun, Corraveggaun, Ballynahagish, Corroy, Cloonturk and outlying areas of Ballina on the Knockmore Road,” he explained.
