Warm tributes paid to popular Charlestown woman Pauline Murray on her passing
The death has occurred of Pauline Murray (née Lavan), Barrack Street, Charlestown.
She died peacefully at her home earlier today surrounded by her loving family.
The news has evoked an immense sense of loss and sadness in the town where she was held in very high esteem.
Many warm tributes have been paid to her on social media since her death was announced.
One stated: "I have great memories of a genuine, caring, welcoming lady who took time to greet with her beaming smile."
Another said: "A lovely lady whom I had the pleasure of meeting during her Western Care days. May she rest in the peace of heaven."
Pauline is deeply regretted by her husband Gerry, an elected member of Mayo County Council, daughters Michelle and Majella, sisters Bernie McWalter (Balla) and Francis Lavan (Dublin), grandchildren Kate and Cian, sons-in-law, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.
Removal takes place from her home on Monday at 11.30 a.m. to St James’s Church, Charlestown, for Requiem Mass at 12 noon.
Burial takes place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

* Due to current restrictions and HSE guidelines the funeral is private to family, a maximum of 50 persons may attend church.
