Draws made for senior, intermediate and junior football championships

The draws have been made this evening for the Mayo senior, intermediate and junior football championships. They were conducted in an outdoor setting at Elverys MacHale Park, Castlebar.

Defending senior champions Knockmore will have to negotiate their way through a group (Group 2) containing Aghamore, Belmullet and Charlestown if they hope to retain their crown.

Last year's intermediate champions, Balla, have been drawn in a tough group (Group 3) containing west Mayo rivals Castlebar Mitchels and Westport as well as the always competitive Ballaghaderreen.

Elsewhere, Group 1 of the senior championship, sponsored by Connacht Gold, contains Ballina Stephenites, Ballintubber, Claremorris and Davitts, while Group 4 is made up of Breaffy, The Neale, Kiltane and Garrymore.

In the Egan Jewellers intermediate championship, the draw is as follows: Group 1 – Bohola-Moy Davitts, Bonniconlon, Parke-Keelogues-Crimlin, Swinford; Group 2 – Hollymount/Carramore, Mayo Gaels, Lahardane, Burrishoole; Group 3 – Kiltimagh, Ardnaree, Louisburgh, Kilmaine; Group 4 – Ballinrobe, Crossmolina, Castlebar Mitchels B, Ballyhaunis.

Meanwhile, the TF Royal Hotel & Theatre junior championship draw looks like this: Group 1 – Kilmeena, Ardagh, Tourmakeady, Kilfian; Group 2 – Cill Chomáin, Achill, Kilmovee, Lacken; Group 3 – Shrule/Glencorrib, Eastern Gaels, Ballycastle, Moygownagh; Group 4 – Islandeady, Killala, Ballycroy.

First round games will be played on September 17/18/19, with round two to follow on September 24/25/26 and round three on October 1/2/3. Before that, the Michael Walsh League will commence at the beginning of July.
