Retirement of two Mayo Leinster House staff members

Members of An Seanad have joined in wishing a very happy retirement to two Mayo staff members of the Houses of the Oireachtas - Ann Nolan, Ballycastle, and Mary O'Malley, Achill Island.

Ann and Mary manned the switchboards in Leinster House for the past 37 years and 35 years, respectively.

Leading the tributes, Castlebar Senator Paddy Burke said: "They have done a magnificent job over those years.

"It is great that when one rings Leinster House somebody answers the phone, unlike so many other institutions around the country.

"I wish them both a happy retirement."
