Mayo GAA get on board with Corduff Travel

Mayo GAA has formalised its relationship with Corduff Travel, a long-time supplier to and sponsor of the organisation.

The travel partnership, agreed last night at a county board meeting, will see the company transport all Mayo GAA teams in the coming years.

The formal partnership is to run initially for three years, subject to review at 12 months.

Founded in 1940 and headquartered in Rossport, Corduff Travel is a family-run travel company which employs over 70 people and provides a first-class service through a fleet of luxury coaches manned by experienced professional drivers.

“Corduff Travel are specialist operators who have a long association with Mayo GAA and we are delighted to have secured their services for the foreseeable future,” commented Mayo GAA chairperson Liam Moffatt.

Richie Cosgrove of Kiltane GAA Club commented: “It's great to see a company from Erris supporting Mayo GAA and on behalf of Kiltane GAA Club, I wish both parties the best of luck in the years ahead.”

Mayo GAA has also announced that it fully supports Croke Park’s Green Clubs programme working with the National Transport Authority (NTA) and the Road Safety Authority (RSA) to develop a 'Green Club Toolkit' for transport and travel.

The scheme encourages club members to choose more sustainable transport options and to help each club’s younger players stay safe when walking or cycling to matches and training.

Meanwhile, in a separate commercial venture announced last night, Mayo GAA revealed that wholesalers Joseph Murphy (Ballina) Ltd has offered pitch maintenance packs to all clubs in the county to an overall value of €9,000.

“It's a very nice, very considered gesture and we thank them most sincerely for it,” said Mr. Moffatt.
