Mayo name starting line-up for Connaught SFC semi-final

Mayo manager James Horan makes four changes to the starting 15 that defeated Sligo in Markievicz Park for the Connaught SFC semi-final against Leitrim this Sunday at 2 p.m.

Castlebar Mitchels goalkeeper Rory Byrne is set to make his full championship debut as he replaces Rob Hennelly.

In the full back line, Padraig O'Hora comes in for the injured Lee Keegan and Michael Plunkett drops into full-back, with Oisin Mullin starting at half-back.

Stephen Coen and Bryan Walsh mark their returns to the side, with Jordan Flynn and Kevin McLoughlin dropping out. Coen will partner Matthew Ruane in midfield while Walsh will be alongside Conor Loftus and Aidan O'Shea at half-forward. Darren McHale moves into the full-forward line beside Tommy Conroy and Ryan O'Donoghue.

Aidan O'Shea will captain the team and makes his 150th appearance for Mayo in league and championship on Sunday. He has made 79 league games and 70 championship appearances to date. Aidan is the fourth player to reach this mark after Andy Moran, Keith Higgins and Kevin McLoughlin.

Mayo and Leitrim have been drawn against each other on 31 occasions in Connaught championship. In 1906 Leitrim conceded a walkover to Mayo while their most recent meeting was last year in the Connaught SFC quarter-final when Mayo won by 2-15 to 0-10. Mayo have won 25 times and Leitrim have won on 3 occasions in 1959, 1976 and 1994, with three drawn games. Mayo have never lost to Leitrim on home ground in the championship.
