Progress on planned extension to Castlebar Primary Care Centre

The HSE West has informed Deputy Michael Ring that plans for the development of the proposed extension to Castlebar Primary Care Centre are with the HSE Property Review Group for final approval.

Deputy Ring eleborated: “I have been advised that final approval should be granted within the next four to six weeks.

"This extension is urgently needed at Castlebar Primary Care Centre.

"This is something which I have raised with the HSE on numerous occasions and I am delighted to see this level of progress being made.

Hopefully, final approval will be received very shortly.

“Primary care centres deliver high quality, integrated care to people in their own communities.

"They are the focus of the government’s efforts to provide health services in the local community for the benefit of the community.

"It demonstrates that we can deliver better care, closer to people’s homes in their local communities.

"There are a large number of services based in Castlebar Primary Care Centre which are of excellent benefit to the local community."
