New west Mayo housing development gets the green light

PLANNING permission has been granted for a 46-house development in Westport.

The homes - 30 detached and 16 semi-detached houses – are to be built at Carrowbaun in the town.

The site previously had permission for 39 houses, however 16 semi-detached units were included in the new proposals submitted by developer Brendan Byrne & Son Ltd.

Three observations were received from members of the public, raising issues about design and density.
