Two Mayo school extensions approved for construction

BOTH St. Joseph’s NS, Bekan, and Robeen NS in Claremorris have been given approval to proceed to construction of extensions to their facilities.

Deputy Alan Dillon has welcomed confirmation that St. Joseph's in Bekan has been approved an extension to the school to include one special education teaching room and one AUWC and EWS (mechanical works).

Robeen NS has been approved for an extension to the school to include one mainstream teaching classroom. All were approved under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme.

Said Deputy Dillon: “I am pleased to learn that both theses schools have been sanctioned approval to proceed to construction for additional accommodation. It will greatly enhance the facilities at the school.

“It is excellent to see progress being made with this approval and I wish both principals, staff and students continued success.”
