Mayo facing major injury concern ahead of clash against Dublin
by Aiden Henry
Unconfirmed reports are emerging tonight that 2020 All-Star and Young Footballer of the Year, Oisín Mullin, is facing the prospect of missing Mayo's All-Ireland SFC semi-final clash against Dublin at Croke Park on Saturday due to injury.
Informed sources have told The Connaught Telegraph that the Kilmaine clubman has sustained a quad strain which threatens to rule him out of the match.
After being one of the stand-out Mayo players during the course of the 2020 championship, the talented Mullin has gone from strength to strength this year and is now rightly acknowledged as one the most accomplished defenders in the country.
Another 2020 All-Star, Cillian O'Connor, was lost to the Mayo squad before the start of the campaign after sustaining an Achilles tendon injury in the National League encounter against Clare on June 13.
Also on the injured list is full-back Padraig O'Hora who suffered a rib injury in the Connacht SFC final win over Galway at Croke Park on July 25.
Although the Ballina Stephenites ace has returned to training, he remains a doubt for Saturday's encounter against the defending champions.
