Work starts on new Crossmolina fire station
WORK has started on the construction of a new fire station in Crossmolina, local Councillor Michael Loftus has confirmed.
In a social media post, Councillor Loftus said this is something he has been working on since elected in 2014, and he acknowledged Deputy Dara Calleary and former TD and Senator Michelle Mulherin who kept the fire station a priority, and also the staff in Mayo County Council.
In other good news for the town, Councillor Loftus said he has been informed by the OPW that all the additional information on the Crossmolina Flood Refief Scheme that was required by DPER, Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and Natural Impact Statement (NIS), has now been received by DPER, on July 30.
Deputy Calleary has been in touch with Minister McGrath in DPER and is working hard to get the flood relief scheme started.
“This is so important for Crossmolina to get this done ASAP,” he commented.
