Swimming restrictions removed from two Mayo beaches
MAYO County Council has advised the public that the temporary Do Not Swim and swim advisory notices in place at Carrowmore and Tallaghbawn beaches have been removed this afternoon (Friday) following receipt of satisfactory results from a water sample taken on Wednesday.
Bathing restrictions remain in place at Dugort, Ballycastle, Portacloy, Lough Lannagh and Pontoon beaches and a bathing advisory at Silver Strand.
Mr. Martin Keating, head of environment, climate change and agriculture, welcomed the restoration of bathing at these beaches and advised that further updates will issue next week regarding the remaining bathing restrictions in place.
