History made at Mayo sporting facility

A piece of sporting history was made in Mayo this week as the very first game inside the world's largest sports air dome was played at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Bekan.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Mayo Under 16 football team beat Donegal 2-15 to 0-14 in the Gerry Reilly Cup in the first official competitive match to played inside the dome

Later that evening, the first ladies match was played as the Division 1 Feile final took place between between Claremorris LGFA and The Neale LGFA, in what was the first LGFA game played inside the Dome. Claremorris defeated The Neale on a scoreline of 5-9 to 0-6 to be corwned champions.
