Tesco Claremorris manager wins coveted grocery management award

Noel Willis, store manager of Tesco Claremorris, has been awarded Large Store Supermarket Manager of the Year award at the annual ShelfLife Grocery Management Awards ceremony.

The Shelflife Awards recognise management excellence in the grocery sector, are independently judged and seeks out best management practice among those who carry responsibility without ownership in the grocery retail sector.

‘Heroes of Retail: Not all heroes wear capes’ was the theme of this year’s event, which recognised the tremendous dedication to customers and colleagues demonstrated by retail managers across the country, as they navigated a second year of the Covid-19 crisis and the myriad challenges presented for the retail sector.

Geoff Byrne, chief operating officer, Tesco Ireland, said: "I send a huge congratulations to Noel and all his store team at Claremorris.

"This award comes as no surprise as Noel and his team have continued to go to great lengths everyday to support each other, our customers and our communities over the last eighteen months.

"Any award nomination or win is simply a testament to the ongoing commitment of the entire team, and I’m delighted that Noel took home this award for Large Supermarket Manager of the Year.”
