Sharp rise in number of Mayo Covid patients being hospitalised

Eighteen Covid patients are in care at Mayo University Hospital today.

That's according to the latest statistics recorded at the facility at 8 p.m. yesterday.

The figure represents an increase of seven since Monday, October 25.

Four new cases were admitted yesterday and there is one suspected case.

Three patients are in the Castlebar centre's intensive care unit.
