Funeral of Mayo man who died tragically in Mexico
The funeral is taking place this afternoon (Tuesday) and tomorrow of the Mayo man who died in a tragic accident in La Paz, Mexico, on November 15.
Ambrose Blaine (55) of Malahide, Dublin, and Istanbul, Turkey, and formerly of Rusheens, Killala, lost his life in a road collision.
The deceased, a pilot who worked as a consultant for Turkish airlines, had been in Mexico for a cycling challenge.
It is reported the accident occurred while he was walking to a cafe.
He is survived by his heartbroken wife Anne, daughters Aoibhín, Niamh and Anna Rose, grandson Cillian, mother Philomena, brothers James, Declan and Brendan, sisters Mary and Fiona, mother-in-law Nancy, father-in-law John, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and all his aviation colleagues around the world, to whom sympathy is tendered.
Ambrose was predeceased by his father Ambrose senior and brother Alan.
His remains will be reposing at McGowan's Funeral Home, Ballina, today from 3.30 until 5 p.m.
Funeral will arrive to St. Muredach's Cathedral, Ballina, on Wednesday morning for Requiem Mass at 11 a.m.
Afterwards the funeral will proceed to Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross, Dublin, arriving for 3.45 p.m.
