JOHN DOYLE, WESTPORT

John Doyle, Cloghroe and formerly of Westport on November 28, 2021, peacefully at home surrounded by his family, after a long illness bravely borne.

John (late of Norwich Union), beloved husband of Mary, loving father of Neville and Janet, son of the late Jack and Jane Christine and brother of the late Maree. Sadly missed by his loving wife and family, son-in-law John, daughter-in-law Eileen, grandchildren Ciara and Emma, brother Pat, sister Sydney, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews especially Paul, nieces, relatives and friends.

KATHLEEN GILMARTIN, BALLINA

Kathleen Gilmartin (née Lynn), Mullahowney, Attymass, Ballina. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Mayo Hospice Castlebar.

Predeceased by her parents Annie and Martin Lynn. Kathleen will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family, husband Chris, sons Christopher and John, daughters Marie, Catriona and Fiona, her sister Mary, her six adored grandchildren Mark, Zoe, Ryan, Lochan, Kealan and Cahir, daughter-in-law Nichola, son-in-law Anthony, nieces, nephews-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Kathleen remains will repose at The Father Peyton Centre, Attymass on Monday evening from 5.30 until 7.30 p.m. Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Tuesday Morning in The Church of the Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph’s Attymass, with burial afterwards In Bonnifinglas Cemetery.

ANN LYNCH, BALLYHAUNIS

The death has occured peacefully at her home after a brief illness of Ann Lynch (née Grogan), Holywell, Ballyhaunis.

Predeceased by her parents John and Lizzie and her husband Larry. Sadly missed by her son Tommie, daughter-in-law Eileen, her sister Mary (New York), her brother Tom (Manchester), her grandchildren Paul, David, Leanne, and Edel, her six greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephew, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Donnellans Funeral Home Clare Street Ballyhaunis on Monday evening from 6 o'clock until 7.30. Funeral will arrive to St Patrick's Church Ballyhaunis on Tuesday morning for funeral Mass at 11 o'clock with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

KATHLEEN WEBB, CLAREMORRIS

Kathleen (Katie) Webb (née Calvey), Tooraree Ballyhaunis, Brickens, Claremorris and late of Innisbiggle Island.

Predeceased by her husband Kieran. Deeply regretted by her daughter BiBi sons James, Michael and Kevin, her sister Bridget (Innisbiggle), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

ELIZABETH GAVAN, CASTLEBAR

The death has occurred of Elizabeth Gavan better known as Eilish of Cherrington Place, Castlebar and formerly of Mill Street, Westport, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Predeceased by her parents John James Gavan and Mary Kate Gavan and her dearly loved nephew Kenneth Sweeney.

She will be sadly missed by her loving brother Seamus (Westport) and her heartbroken sisters Mai Tynan (Kildare) and Kathleen Sweeney (Castlebar), her sister-in-law Maureen Gavan (Mill Street, Westport), brothers-in-law Pat Tynan (Kildare) and Eddie Sweeney (Castlebar).

Eilish was the cherished aunt of Joe, Eric and Elisha Sweeney and John and Edel Gavan and beloved grand-aunt to Lucy, Abby, Sarah, Clea, Arianna, Aaron, Ben, Jake, Kalum and Kyle.

Eilish was loved and respected in her native Westport as well as Castlebar. A nurse by professional Eilish nursed in the UK before returning to make her home in Castlebar. She was a kind and caring lady who was held in high regard by her colleagues and the patients she cared for.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Removal from her home on Tuesday at 1.30 p.m. arriving at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar for Funeral Mass at 2 p.m.. Afterwards Eilish will be laid to rest in Aughavale Cemetery, Westport. The funeral cortège will travel via her native Mill Street, Westport on route to Aughavale Cemetery.

PATRICK HORKAN, CASTLEBAR

Patrick (Patsy) Horkan, November 27, 2021, Blackfort, Castlebar and late of Spencer Street, peacefully in Cuan Chaitriona Nursing Home Castlebar.

Predeceased by his son Joseph and his brothers Peter, Tommy and Seamus. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Frances, daughters Catriona, Patrice, Maria, sons Patrick and Kieran, brothers, Sean, Eamonn and Henry, sisters Betty (O’Neill) and Alice (Fox), sons-in-law Kieran, Christopher and Marie’s partner Jeremy, daughters-in-law Mary and Valerie, grandchildren, Michelle, Alicia, Louise, Grace, Mark, Kerrie, Philip, Henry, Conor, great-grandchildren Scott and Harry, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Remains reposing at Coady’s Funeral Home this Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with removal at 7 p.m. to his residence in Blackfort, Castlebar. Removal on Tuesday morning at 11.15am for Funeral Mass at 12.00 noon, in the Church of The Holy Rosary, Castlebar followed by burial afterwards in Castlebar New Cemetery. House private by request. PHYLLIS MCEVILLY, CLAREMORRIS

Phyllis McEvilly (née Bourke), Attavally, Ballintubber, Claremorris. Peacefully at the Galway Clinic.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband Walter, son John, daughter Mary (Australia), daughter-in-law Laura, son-in-law Mark (Butler), granddaughter Alice, sister Joan (Birmingham), brothers Eamonn (Dublin) and Tony (Castlebar), sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.

Predeceased by her brothers Liam, James and Paul.

Reposing at Ballintubber Resource Centre on Monday evening from 5 p.m., with removal at 7 p.m. to Ballintubber Abbey. Funeral Mass on Tuesday at noon, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

AUSTIN WALDRON, BALLYHAUNIS

Austin Waldron, of Manchester and formerly of Derrymore, Ballyhaunis, was taken home, in God's loving arms, on November 6, 2021. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Austin was a loving and devoted husband and is deeply missed and survived by his loving wife Kathleen; children: PJ, Marian, Austin and Gerard; his grandchildren and daughters-in-law; He was also a great friend; brother; brother-in-law and uncle to his many nieces and nephews in England, Ireland, America and Australia. A proud Irish man known by many all over with a wide circle of friends.

Austin will be waked at his home in England on Wednesday from 4 p.m. with removal on Thursday to arrive at St Winifred's RC church, Heaton, Mersey, for funeral Mass at 11.30 a.m.

Austin will arrive home to his native home of Ballyhaunis on Friday where he will repose at his home in Derrymore on Saturday from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. To welcome family and friends that wish to pay their respects. Funeral will arrive to St Patrick's Church, Lahardane, at 4 p.m. Requiem Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Lahardane, on Sunday at 1.30 p.m. with burial afterwards in Addergoole Cemetery, on the shores of Loch Conn.

ELIZABETH WARD, SWINFORD

Elizabeth Ward (née Brennan), Derryronane, Swinford. Peacefully at the Mayo Hospice in her 102nd year.

Predeceased by her husband John, sons Billy and Michael.

Deeply regretted by her loving family, Pauline, Jack, Margaret Mary, Pat, Tom and Lizzie, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, family circle, many friends and neighbours.

Elizabeth's Funeral Mass will take place in the Church of Our Lady Help of Christians, Swinford at 12 noon on Monday prior to burial in Kilconduff Cemetery.

Due to Covid Restrictions Elizabeth's Funeral Mass will be for family and neighbours only please.

Predeceased by his parents Jack and Maureen (nee Gilligan) of the Lodge, Claremorris and Balla Road Claremorris. Fr Pat will be sadly missed by his sister Anne Freeley (Ballyhaunis), his brothers John (Longford), Martin (Claremorris) and Finian (Newtownforbes), his brother-in-law Ivan and sisters-in law Carmel, Marguerite and Trish, his nieces and nephews, grandniece, relatives, aunt-in-law Pat Gilligan, Archbishop Michael Neary and priest colleagues and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Mass took place at St. Joseph’s Church in Caherlistrane, Co. Galway, followed by burial with his parents at St. Colman’s Cemetery, Claremorris.

Predeceased by her baby son Joseph, parents Thomas and Kathleen and her sister Evelyn. Deeply regretted and dearly missed by her loving sons and daughters, Tony (Loughill), Miriam (Australia), Veronica (Downpatrick) and Seamus (Moygownagh), brother John, sisters Bridie, Kathleen, Margaret and Rita, grandchildren Eva, Mia, Megan, Jamie, Erin, Shea, Eimear, Aoife and Méabh, in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

MARY SHIEL, SWINFORD

The death has occurred of Mary Shiel, formerly of Meelick, Swinford. Mary died peacefully at Rose Court Care Home, Rotherhithe, London on Monday, November 22, 2021.

Sadly missed by nieces, nephews in the Shiel, Solan, Wren and McHugh families, neighbours and friends.

The Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. George's Cathedral, Southwark, London on Monday at 10:15 a.m.
