Mayo GAA club joins the "Ireland Lights Up" campaign

The GAA’s popular Ireland Lights Up walking initiative returns in January 2022 in partnership with RTÉ’s Operation Transformation and Castlebar Mitchels GAA Club will be organising walks in January in conjunction with RTÉ.

Walks around the lit-up paths of Lough Lannagh, Castlebar, will start on Tuesday evening, January 11, at 6.30 p.m., assembling at Lough Lannagh car park, and will continue for four weeks. The walks are open to all members of the community, so get your walking shoes out!

The walks enable the local community to come together in a safe environment during the long dark evenings of winter. As ever, Operation Transformation returns to our screens on January 5 and will shine a light on this great initiative by showcasing each week on the show GAA clubs that are participating in Ireland Lights Up.
