Significant changes in Mayo county town GP medical care services
A number of significant developments in GP medical care have taken place in Castlebar.
Malvern Medical Group has opened a practice at Main Street in the town in addition to its pre-existing clinics in Ballindine, Claremorris and Ballinrobe.
It is located in the former vaccination clinic operated by Staunton's Pharmacy.
The group has taken over Dr. Kieran Long’s panel following his retirement, but registrations are being taken from new patients outside of this arrangement.
Dr. Bogna Gorecka and Dr. David McNeill will be operating from this site on alternate days.
The opening hours are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The opening is a boost in terms of retaining footfall levels in the town centre.
In another move, Tobin Healthcare Centre, Spencer Street, has confirmed its partnership with Centric Health, ensuring the expansion and long-term future security of GP care for all patients at the practice as well as increasing services provided by Dr. Richard Tobin and his medical staff.
Dr. Tobin has confirmed that he continues providing services in his specialist areas including ultrasound guided musculoskeletal and joint injection, ultrasound assisted clinical assessments, preventative healthcare and osteoporosis.
Castlebar Family Practice, located at Mountain View, has announced that Dr. Carol Duffy is a new addition to the medical team there.
