Old Mayo road getting a much-needed facelift
AN elected representative of Mayo County Council has expressed his delight with the progress made on the upgrading of the old Turlough Road.
The work, which remains ongoing, sees a number of pedestrian crossings, footpath extensions, cycling lanes and speed calming measures on the road.
Councillor Ger Deere said: "I'm delighted to see work progressing on the instillation of pedestrian crossings and cycle lanes and footpath extensions on the old Turlough Road.
"This is an issue I highlighted several months ago. It will make it safer for the hundreds of residents in several housing estates and all who use this road and the footpath extension is very welcome news for all who use the popular loop walk onto the Pontoon Road."
