Rubbish dumped at Mayo football club angers members

Members of Straide & Foxford United were shocked to find rubbish dumped at the back of one of the goals yesterday evening.

The club grounds are located on Green Road, adjacent to the River Moy.

“There really are no words for this kind of despicable behaviour,” the club said in a post on its Facebook page.

“Our club is ran by volunteers who have better things they could be doing for the club than picking up someone else's rubbish.”

It prompted one follower, John McNicholas, to comment in reply: “Our country has lost respect for its citizens, the idiots that do this have no concern for the beauty of Ireland, just look at the sides of the roads. Morons!!”
