New GAA role for former Mayo boss John O'Mahony
Salthill Knocknacarra GAA Club has announced the appointment of John O’Mahony as the club’s senior football manager for the upcoming season.
The Ballaghaderreen-based coach has vast experience of Galway football, having led the county to All-Ireland SFC titles in 1998 and 2001.
He had two terms in charge of Mayo, leading the county to an All-Ireland final in 1989, and he guided Leitrim to an historic Connacht title in 1994.
"I am looking forward to working with the club in the coming season and I will be talking with the club's football committee to finalise my management team over the coming days," he stated.
