Break-ins to Mayo rural properties being probed by gardaí

Gardaí in Mayo are investigating break-ins to three rural dwellings in the county yesterday.

They took place in Bohola, Straide and Lahardane.

The Bohola incident took place between 3.30 and 7 p.m. when access was raised to the residence through a rear patio window.

The Straide break-in occurred between 3 and 7.30 p.m. and access to the property was gained through a back window.

Gardaí are in the process of establishing what was stolen from the Bohola and Straide homes.

A sum of cash was taken from a house in Lahardane which was broken into between 3.30 p.m. on Sunday and 12.30 a.m. on Monday morning.

Gardaí in Castlebar have issued an appeal for information from members of the public who may have witnessed suspicious activity in any of the three villages in question yesterday.

They should contact Castlebar Garda Station or any garda station.
