Valet parking facility for hotel in Westport gets green light

PLANS for valet parking for a hotel in Westport have been approved.

The car park, to service the Wyatt Hotel, will be developed at the rear of SuperValu on Shop Street, with the addition of a new raised deck car park containing 64 spaces.

The bespoke car parking solution is for patrons of the Wyatt Hotel. Such a viable option does not present itself within the confines of the existing hotel.

One of the conditions attached to the grant of planning permission by Mayo County Council is that a minimum of 10% of the parking spaces will be provided with electrical connection points, to allow for electric vehicle charging.

The remaining spaces will be fitted with ducting for electric connection points to allow for future fit-out of charging points, to encourage the use of sustainable transport.
