Plenty of Mayo involvement in Sigerson Cup final

There will be a host of Mayo club and county players in action in tonight's Sigerson Cup final between University of Limerick and NUI Galway at Carlow IT.

UL, hot favourites to win the competition, have Jack Coyne (Ballyhaunis), Connell Dempsey (Knockmore), Connor Igoe (Bonniconlon), Jack Mahon (Charlestown), Ronan Reilly (Parke Keelogues Crimlin), Paul Towey (Charlestown) and Luke Tunney (Westport) amongst their panel of stars. Also on the panel is Westport's Eoghan McLaughlin although he is ruled out due to an ankle injury.

Towey, who is part of a formidable full-forward line including Kerry duo Donal O'Sullivan and David Clifford, finished with 0-3 in their 0-14 to 0-11 semi-final win while Dempsey also on point with a terrific score in the second half.

NUIG, managed by former Mayo player Maurice Sheridan, have Castlebar Mitchels duo Gavin Durcan and Ultan O'Reilly in the ranks as well as Westport's Fionn McDonagh. Tommy Conroy is also part of the panel but is ruled out for the year after sustaining a serious knee injury in their quarterfinal win.

Throw-in is at 7.30 p.m. and the game is live on TG4.
