The day General Michael Collins' armoured car came to Erris

The day Michael Collins' armoured car came to Erris has been captured for posterity.

The crew at iMayoTV made a lovely programme about its appearance at the annual Geesala Festival.

The car, named Sliabh ná mBan, escorted General Collins on the day he was shot at Béal na mBláth, Co. Cork, on August 22, 1922.

An important piece of military heritage, it was restored over a decade ago.

Now the Rolls Royce armoured car is a very popular attraction at the Curragh Military Museum.
