Mayo Football League selects teams of the year

THE Mayo Football League have announced the teams of the year for the 2021 season as well as the 2019/2020 Masters seasons.

Super League champions Ballyheane have the most representatives on the Super League Team of the Year with five. Runners-up Ballina Town have four, while Claremorris and Westport United have one each.

One thing Ballyheane will be guaranteed is that a member of their unbeaten side will be Player of the Year, with Ben Edeh, Sean Kilcoyne and Liam Irwin all nominated.

AWARDS NIGHT

The awards for each division will be announced at the Mayo Football League presentation dinner on Wednesday, March 16, in the Castlecourt Hotel, Westport. Guest of honour on the night will be Mayo native, FAI UEFA delegate Pat Duffy.

The recipients for the Henry Downes Service to Football award, Hall of Fame, Club Person of the Year, and shortlist for Club of the Year will be announced this week.
