Three Mayo men charged over Sligo aggravated burglary

Three men with Mayo addresses have been remanded in custody after being charged with aggravated burglary at the home of Tom Niland in Skreen, Co. Sligo, last January.

They are 54-year old Francis Harmon, Nephin Court, Killala Road, Ballina, 28-year old John Irving, Shanwar, Foxford, and 33-year old John Clarke, Carrowkelly, Ballina.

They all appeared before a special sitting of Sligo District Court charged with aggravated burglary with a knife at the home of Mr. Niland at Doonflynn, Skreen on January 18 last.

Free legal aid was granted to all three and there were no applications for bail.

They have been remanded in custody to appear before Sligo District Court next Wednesday.

Mr. Niland remains in a serious condition in hospital.
