Mayo museum is open on St. Patrick's Day and Bank Holiday Friday

Entry is free to all exhibitions

This St. Patrick’s Day break discover the museum on your doorstop and visit the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life, Turlough Park, Castlebar home to the National Folklife Collection.

View the current exhibitions: FOLK21, St. Brigid’s Crosses and Our Irish Chair, Tradition Revisited in the museum galleries, 1845, Momento Mori in Turlough Park House and One Day, and 40 Sunrises in the Courtyard Gallery.

Beautifully situated, NMI Country Life & Turlough Park House overlook 30 acres of formal gardens, parkland and an ornamental lake.

In their grounds explore the restored Victorian glass house, riverside walks, woodland, award winning playground and the Greenway cycling route.

The museum shop offers a wide range of unique Irish crafts, gifts and books.

The Courtyard Café, Synge & Byrne serves snacks, lunch, teas and coffees, homemade treats and children’s meals.

The National Museum of Ireland - Country Life and Turlough Park House is open Tuesday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday and Monday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

It remains open on St Patrick’s Day from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, Bank Holiday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission is free.
