Cellist supreme Patrick Dexter to grace Mayo stage

THE Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar is thrilled to announce that it will play host to world-renowned cellist Patrick Dexter on March 25.

This will be Dexter’s first solo show post Covid-19, during which he utilised the global pause to develop new ways of reaching his audience from the rugged surrounds of his cottage in Co. Mayo, charming cello enthusiasts and music lovers the world over. His open air recitals racked up millions of views on Tik Tok and social media platforms unexpectedly, turning Patrick into a deserving global sensation.

Dexter’s album Solace is due for release in 2022, exploring themes of home, nature and the Mayo landscape and ahead of its debut, the Linenhall is honoured to showcase his new body of work in their historic building.

At this intimate performance, Patrick will be joined by his father, conductor and pianist John Dexter, as a special guest.
