Services awards for Westport Lions Club members
LIONS Club International globally honours members that serve their club. The chevron pins awarded are only to make the milestone symbolically, yet we know locally the many years of dedicated service of club members.
Collectively, five members of Westport Lions Club have served for 105 years, and they have received awards for their service.
Past District Governor Lion Des Ryan and Lion Darren Madden received the honour for 15 years of service - a somewhat delayed presentation since 2020 due to Covid restrictions.
Lion Anne Corcoran (absent on the night), Lion Brendan O'Malley and Lion Bernadine McGlade received the chevron pin for 25 years of service.
This small club has had many successful projects locally and continues to step out from the last two years with continued pride to serve the community, near and far.
Westport Lions Club's current project is to send aid to Ukraine via the Lions' global crisis international appeal - watch out for them on the streets for this cause.
The presentation night, meanwhile, was a warm welcome for the members to gather together after so very long and leave Zoom meetings behind.
They thank you, their community, for your continued support.
