Mayo GAA video shows pitch in immaculate shape ahead of crunch Galway clash

Mayo GAA has released a video showing Hastings Insurance McHale Park in Castlebar in immaculate condition ahead of the Connacht SFC quarter-final clash against Galway on Sunday, April 24 (4 p.m.)

While an official announcement has yet to be made on the matter by the Connacht GAA Council, the footage, captured by David Beattie, shows the pitch surface looking fabulous following major resurfacing works over the past number of months.

The recent good weather has been a great help in terms of ensuring strong grass growth.

Mayo have had to play all their home Allianz National Football League games outside of the county due to the pitch project.

Despite this inconvenience, James Horan's charges have qualified for the final against Kerry next Sunday for the first time since 2019.

However, the return to the home of GAA in the county, Hastings Insurance McHale Park, is widely anticipated by supporters ahead of an encounter with the tribesmen that is certain to be memorable.
