Landmark Mayo bridge is vandalised

The landmark pedestrian bridge at Lough Lannagh in Castlebar has been vandalised.

The discovery was made by a local Tidy Towns volunteers during a clear-up of the area.

A section of protection fencing on the structure has been damaged, much to the anger of those who enjoy their daily walks at the lakeside amenity.

The matter has been reported to the local gardaí.
