Mayo Under 20 hurling team named for All-Ireland semi-final
Mayo manager Brian Finn has named the same team and panel that defeated Donegal last time out for their crucial Richie McElligott Under 20 B All-Ireland hurling championship semi-final against Roscommon tomorrow evening (Friday).
The backbone of the team features three Mayo senior hurling panelists, with the proficient Aaron Ketterick from Westport named at midfield, the powerful Danny Hill from Ballyhaunis manning the edge of the square at full-back and the deadly accurate Conal Hession from Tooreen slotting in at full-forward.
Two further senior panelists in Darren Murray and Jack Trench are named on the bench.
Ronan and Ciaran Tracey, Paddy Dozio, Padraic Murphy, Diarmuid Phillips, John Kennedy and Tomas Fahy also impressed in the opening round victory for Mayo. The team is captained by Ronan Treacy from the Castlebar Mitchels.
The Under 20 B hurling championship is knockout and is one of the few All-Ireland competitions not to run on a provincial basis.
The game this Friday evening (April 15) has a 5 p.m. start in Athleague, with Michael Connolly down to referee the contest.
