Crews working to restore water in Ballina
CREWS are on site on the Bunree Road in Ballina this morning repairing a burst water mains.
Irish Water and Mayo County Council are working to restore water supply as quickly as possible to approximately 150 customers in the Millview, Oakwood Drive and Lower Bunree Road areas.
Customers can expect to experience water outages up to 3 p.m. today.
Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.
Speaking about the repair works, Ger Greally, Irish Water, said: “The repairs are being conducted as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption to the community and restore water for all customers.
“We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate your patience as we work to return the water supply to homes and businesses as quickly as possible. Irish Water has plans to replace the old water mains on Bunree Road later this year which will eliminate bursts and outages.”
Traffic restrictions are in place while repair works continue.
