Lacken Cross win national soccer title

St. Patrick's College, Lacken Cross, were crowned FAI Schools Senior B Girls National Cup champions after a brilliant 4-0 win over Midleton College, Cork.

Alison Long put Lacken Cross in front after nine minutes before captain Sarah Costello doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute from a set-piece.

Long made it 3-0 in the 51st minute before she completed her hat trick on the hour mark to cap off a fabulous day for the north Mayo school.
