Clew Bay is Ireland's first Cycle Friendly Destination

CLEW Bay has been officially certified as Ireland's first Cycle Friendly Destination under the European Cycling Federation (ECF).

Welcoming the news on his social media, Westport Councillor Peter Flynn explained how the Clew Bay Cycle Friendly website, with eight routes around Mayo, is now live.

Everyone in the hospitality industry across the county is encouraged to sign up so you are 'on the map' for cycling tourism. See https://www.cyclefriendlyclewbay.ie/.

Said Councillor Flynn: “We had the pleasure of collecting the certificate in the presence of Minister Hildegarde Naughton along with my council colleague Christy Hyland plus Mayo TDs Rose Conway-Walsh and Alan Dillon.

“Thanks to everyone in Destination Westport, the Chamber of Commerce, Westport Municipal District and businesses around the area in making this happen.”
