Mayo camogie volunteer receives national award

Mary Kennedy, a member of Castlebar Mitchels Camogie Club, has been honoured with a national accolade.

She was presented with the Mayo Volunteer of the Year Award at the Irish Camogie Association's Media, Volunteer and Referees Awardsat Croke Park.

The award is in recognition of her invaluable and long-standing involvement and work with camogie in Mayo.

Congratulating her on her success, a statement by Castlebar Mitchels Hurling Club stated: "Mary has been with the club for over 25 years and has always been the backbone of Mitchels camogie.

"She has enticed everyone from members to players to become involved and has made the club the huge success it is today."
