Revival of lapsed licence for Mayo pub is confirmed
One of south Mayo’s best known watering holes – T. J. Gibbons Pub in Shrule – had its drinks licence revived at Tuesday's sitting of the Circuit Court in Castlebar.
Judge Brian O’Callaghan was told that the licence for the premises had lapsed some time ago and the pub owners, Lorraine and Brian Gibbons, were applying for its revival.
Lorraine Gibbons outlined to Judge O’Callaghan her long experience as a bar person going back to her earlier years in Cong where she grew up.
She said she was thoroughly familiar with the licensing laws.
After hearing that there were no objections to the revival of licence and that there was no difference between the layout of the present premises to what was licensed on the previous occasion, the judge said he was happy to grant the necessary certificate.
The judge wished Lorraine and Brian Gibbons the very best in running their business in the future.
