Mayo minors advance to All-Ireland semi-final

The Mayo minors are one win away from an All-Ireland final after they came through a thrilling, high-scoring affair, 3-18 to 3-12, against Kildare at O'Connor Park in Tullamore this afternoon.

Mayo appeared to be in command at the break, 3-5 to 1-7, as the duo of Ronan Clarke and Niall Hurley caused havoc.

Kildare's Ben Lockman's 20th minute goal cancelled out Niall Hurley's first in the 13th but two goals in the space of 30 seconds before half-time, one from Clarke and another from Hurley, put Mayo in control.

Mayo's lead went into double digits in the 52nd minute as they appeared home and dry. Goals from Kildare's Eoin Cully and Loakman (penalty) set up a tense finale in added time but Clarke and Hurley fired over late points to safely send Mayo through and set up a clash with Kerry in two weeks time (June 25/26) for a place in the final.
