Passing of popular Mayo personality is widely regretted
The death has occurred peacefully at Mayo Hospice of Eamon Mallee, Moat, Balla, and formerly of Rathduff, Balla, and Faughill, Kiltimagh.
Aged 67 years, he was a skilled steel fixer who worked with his father on the construction of the Basilica of Our Lady Queen of Ireland, Knock.
He later drove a bus for Enable Ireland and he was also a bus driver in the local community.
Eamon was well known, respected and loved in the local community.
He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Ann (née Brennan), daughter Caroline, sons Eamon and Keith, cherished grandchildren Lisa, Aimee, Kayla, Andrea, Naomi and Tara, son-in-law John Ludden, daughter-in-law Lynette, sisters Marion and Pauline, brothers John, Michael, Kevin and Padraic, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, uncle Patrick and aunt Eileen Garside (UK), relatives, neighbours and many friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.
Eamon was predeceased by his parents Paddy and Vera (née Tolan) and his parents-in-law Thomas and Sal Brennan (née Staed), (Station Road, Balla), brother Joe (Faughill, Kiltimagh) and nephew Garda Michael Padden (Belmullet).
Remains will repose in Balla Funeral Home on Saturday from 5.30 to 7.00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Sunday at 2 p.m. in St. Cronan's Church, Balla, followed by cremation in Shannon Crematorium.
